Van Soest fights Jeri Sitzes for the WBC Muay Thai 122-lb. International Title this Saturday
LAS VEGAS – “The WBC belt is the most coveted title that you can fight for, it’s the big green belt that everybody talks about, dreams about and trains for,” says Tiffany Van Soest in a short video documentary released today from inside her camp.
Van Soest knows what is at stake when she takes the ring this coming Saturday in her professional Lion Fight full Muay Thai rules at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The iconic WBC green belt made famous by big name boxers such as Floyd Mayweather and Oscar de la Hoya will be hanging in the balance when she battles Jeri Sitzes for the women’s bantamweight international WBC Muay Thai title.
“I’m chasing a dream and I won’t stop until I get there,” she says. “I’m gonna put on a fight that everyone’s gonna talk about for years – it’s gonna be exciting. I’m young, I’m hungry and I have never wanted anything this bad in my life. I guarantee you on October 13 this is going to be the best fight you’ve ever seen between two women.”
Van Soest elaborates on the challenges of being a female in the male dominated world of fighting, but speaks to her hope for the growth of Muay Thai and the dream to become an ambassador similar to the role of Ronda Rousey for MMA.
